UNIVA America, Inc., provided two companies, UNIVA Fusion (a UNIVA Group affiliate) and Naturally Plus, with backstage marketing services at the 2017 Emmy Awards Show (the highest award in the US television industry), held in September in Los Angeles. Numerous Emmy award winners and presenters were given UNIVA Fusion’s “Kombucha Cleanse”—a popular kombucha product in Japan—and Naturally Plus’ hydrogen water, “Izumio.”
Among the celebrities who tried and enjoyed these products were Annika Noni Rose, who was a supporting actress in the Acadamy Award–winning film Dreamgirls, legendary actress Cicely Tyson, Golden Globe winner Matt Bomer, prolific film and TV star Dennis Quaid, and many others.
Backstage marketing is a method of
generating buzz. It is a service where companies offer their products and
services to celebrities in backstage suites at America’s famous award shows with
two goals: to get images of the celebrity with the product that the company can
then use for its own PR activities, and to get exposure for the product in
major media outlets (major TV networks, magazines, Internet, newspapers, etc.).
UNIVA America has formed an alliance with the only company officially
authorized to operate these backstage suites, and so we can carry out this
buzz-generating marketing with no worries. In addition to having photos of
celebrities with the company’s product appear in major media outlets and having
PR shots of the celebrity and the product for use on the Internet and other
SNS, we can also use this occasion to create various new opportunities, like
discussing the possibility of future product endorsements by the celebrities.
